Dear Friend,
Thank you for visiting my website. For many
years, I wanted to create a book that would
do more than just tell a funny story. I
wanted it to have a lesson that children
could learn and apply to their lives, Clinky
The Clown and The Secret of Happyville is
that story.
Each year I work with school districts,
teachers, librarians and students to
encourage reading and the importance of a
college education at the elementary school
level. I have visited many of the elementary
schools in my "adopted" hometown of Wylie
and the North Texas area to help promote our
public libraries and the importance of
reading.
I have also been very blessed over the years
to have received various honors and awards
from Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Arkansas
School for the Deaf, the Easter Seals
Society, City of Wylie, Texas and the
Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The character, "Clinky the clown," was
created more than twenty-nine years ago,
when I was a teenager. As "Clinky," I
performed a comedy magic for children and
adults in many hospitals, elementary schools
and non-profit organizations around the
country.
When I sat down to work on my book, I
decided to use characters that had become a
part of my life. I wanted a way in which
Clinky The Clown could live on, and so
you'll now find him in my books. I also
wanted to build characters in a way that
children could relate and learn from them.
Clinky, his friends and all the adult
characters in the book were written with
those thoughts in mind.
I am now currently working on my second book. It is the second in the series
of books about Clinky The Clown. This time he will be in the third grade with
another mystery to solve and another lesson to be learned, so please stay tuned
and keep reading!
